THE LITTLE GREEN MONSTER BIOGAS DOMESTIC DIGESTER:
- INTRODUCTION TO THE LITTLE GREEN MONSTER
. The Little Green Monster Biogas domestic digester is designed as a 'waste to energy' solution that turns organic waste (toilet effluent, kitchen waste, grass clippings, animal manure) into methane gas. Methane can be used to cook, heat water in a gas geyser etc.
- GAS CAPACITY OF TO THE LITTLE GREEN MONSTER
The Little Green Monster Biogas domestic digester has a gas storage capacity of 500L at normal pressure and temperature. Thus, if the unit is fed and managed optimally, 500L of biogas can be utilised twice a day. This equates to an estimated maximum daily biogas capacity of 1000L. This equates to a total energy content of 7 kWh per day or about 500g LPG equivalent.
What can you do with 500g LPG equivalent from the Little Green Monster Biogas domestic digester ?
Shower for 2 x 10 minutes using a 10L/min water heater

We have done a documentary of a unit that we installed in Grabou (Western Cape - South Africa). This was done for a kindergarden school that has no access to electricity.
This illestrates the operational aspects of the unit. Some other installations include:
- DSTV House in Parktown
- 30 Rural digesters in Qwa Qwa
- Calitsdorp Nursery to name a few
